This Month in Mix

More than 50 PlayStation 3 game-development studios have downloaded Gamebryo since its debut on "PS3" Developer Network" on February 17. The Gamebryo game-development platform is downloadable in its full version for evaluation, prototyping and game creation.

Gamebryo features Emergent's Floodgate stream processing engine, which allows game developers to distribute data and computation-intensive tasks, such as particle systems and physics, across the multiple Synergistic Processor Units (SPUs) of PS3. Floodgate, along with other advanced tools and technologies in Gamebryo, will help PS3 game developers maximize the power of "Cell Broadband Engine" PS3. Already, more than 90 game developers and educational facilities worldwide are using Floodgate.

Upon completing the Gamebryo download, PS3 game developers will have immediate access to the Emergent technical support team, which has representatives located in North America, Europe and Asia.
