Blanton Alspaugh
Blanton Alspaugh is a staff producer/engineer at Soundmirror (Boston), a digital location recording/post-production facility specializing in classical and acoustic music, and mastering of a variety of genres. Alspaugh began his career as an on-air personality/producer for classical radio station KRTS-FM (Houston), where he had the opportunity to record Houston Symphony broadcasts. More radio work followed, including producing a syndicated radio series with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In 2000, he joined Soundmirror.
“At Soundmirror, we’ve worked for just about all the classical labels at one time or another,” Alspaugh says. “Now we’re also working directly with artists, orchestras and opera companies, serving their needs across all media platforms.”
In addition to numerous recording projects, Alspaugh is currently producing a syndicated radio series focusing on American music with the Nashville Symphony called American Encores, hosted by Leonard Slatkin and Edgar Meyer and distributed by the WFMT Radio Network.
