Producer of the Year (Non-Classical)

Jan 28, 2008 6:04 PM

Timbaland

Timbaland is one of those cats who can seemingly do no wrong—he could be in this category almost every year and deserve it. The list of artists he’s worked with reads like a who'ss who of contemporary R&B, rap and hip hop: Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, Nas, Ludacris, Snoop, Justin Timberlake, Lil Kim, Nelly Furtado; you name ’em, he’s worked with ’em. Among his productions in the current Grammy eligibility period were tracks by MIA featuring Timbaland (“Come Around”), Fabolous featuring Ne Yo (“Make Me Better”), Timbaland featuring Justin Timberlake and Nelly (“Give It to Me”) and then Timbaland’s own album of 2007, Shock Value, which is loaded with big guest stars and even bigger grooves and beats.
