Ringo Starr, Ringo 5.1: The Surround Sound Collection
Ringo 5.1 features tracks from the former Beatle's Ringo Rama and Choose Love albums, remixed in surround and released on the Koch label. But the Starr of this project doesn't go it alone—besides Ringo himself providing drums, vocals and some organ, bass and guitar parts, he gets a little help from a slew of his friends, including performances by luminaries such as Eric Clapton, Jack Blades, Mark Hudson, Chrissie Hynde, Van Dyke Parks, the late greats Roy Orbison and Billy Preston and a host of others. Surround producers on the release are Bill Crowley, Ringo and Bruce Sugar (the latter also doing the surround mix) and surround mastering by Crowley.
