Avlex Corporation's Avlex MX8-1RM mic-line mixer is a 1RU rackmount audio mixer supporting eight mic/line channels—each with its own volume and tone control, as well as a master volume control and a power-on/off switch.
The MX8-1RM’s rear panel provides six channels with balanced XLR and quarter-inch TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) mic/line inputs, along with two channels of RCA unbalanced line inputs and quarter-inch TRS balanced mic/line inputs. The unit can accommodate everything from wired and wireless microphones to CD players.
Featuring eight 48-volt phantom-power DIP switches—one for each microphone input—the MX8-1RM can connect upward of eight high-quality cardioid condenser microphones.
Featuring aux/bus inputs and a pre-fader output, the MX8-1RM can easily be expanded to create a larger-capacity mixing system. For example, by connecting the pre-fader output of an MX8-1RM to the aux/bus input of a second such unit, the two MX8-1RM audio mixers can be cascaded into a 16-channel system.
With a THD rating of <0.003 percent, a signal-to-noise ratio of 106 dB and a frequency response ranging from 16 to 22k Hz (-3 dB), the MX8-1RM is housed in a rugged metal enclosure and weighs 4.8 pounds.
The MX8-1RM carries a MSRP of $240 and is available.
