Currently on tour with songwriters Buddy Mondlock and Maia Sharp supporting their new collaborative album, Everything Waits to Be Noticed, Art Garfunkel and his band are using an all-Crown mic lineup onstage. Ten Crown CM-200A cardioid condenser mics are used for vocals, sax, guitars, kick drum and snare top; CM-700 condensers and miniature hypercardioid GLM-200s are on drums and percussion, while the 9-foot Steinway piano is miked with a pair of PZM-6Ds. “I love the PZMs in the piano,” says Stuart Breed, Garfunkel's FOH and studio engineer for 18 years. “Art tends to be a real stickler for natural piano sounds.”
