Faced with tight cargo space restrictions on commercial airplanes and poor highway conditions in Central and South Americas, FOH engineer Juan Carlos Yepes specified InnovaSon Essential Live digital consoles for a lengthy tour with Latin music superstar Carlos Vives. To further save truck space, Yepes and monitor engineer Gilberto Morejon have reduced their dependence on outboard gear. “We're using all of the compressors and gates in the InnovaSon,” says Yepes. “The only thing I'm carrying with me in addition to the board is four effects units — that's it!”
