Existing owners of UA111 and UA888 can download Wireless Workbench software at www.shure.com/software…Cirque du Soleil is supporting its latest touring production with a self-powered Meyer Sound loudspeaker system. Sound design for Varekai was the work of Cirque veteran Francois Bergeron, whose designs include “O”, La Nouba and Quidam. The Varekai production features a cast of 50, who perform acrobatics to live music inside a portable 50-meter-long, 2,600-capacity tent. The Meyer systems — CQ-1, CQ-2, UPA-1P and PSW-2 models — take up a minimum of space. According to Bergeron, the tent's flexible PVC skin, when stretched taut, presents a surprisingly hard acoustical surface and is highly reflective. “I think this is definitely one of the best-sounding Cirque tours yet, and that's in part because I was able to position the Meyer speakers to maximum advantage.”
