12 Media Music, a new joint venture between drummer/producer Tony Coleman (BB King, Otis Clay, Bobby Bland, Ana Popovic) and composer/producer Erick Gilbertson, officially opens its new purpose-built A room in Portland, Oregon. Coleman and Gilbertson first met in 2012.

Coleman's most recent project, Ana Popovic’s Can You Stand the Heat, garnered a USA Today “Pick of the Week” accolade and reached Number 3 on the Billboard Blues Chart. Gilbertson is a veteran of the sync/library industry and has composed for film, television and advertisements.

The studio is built around SSL analog summing and conversion, including Alpha-Link, XDesk and XRack modules feeding a "purposely overbuilt" PC Audio Labs i7 DAW running Pro Tools and Cakewalk SONAR platforms.

Outboard gear includes selections from Neve, Manley, API, EL, Buzz Audio, Universal Audio, Avalon, SSL, Teletronix, Eventide, Phoenix and Drawmer. Microphones include Neumann, Peluso, Earthworks, Soundelux, Telefunken, an AKG C12 from 1953 modified by Klaus Heyne, and more. Instruments and amplification options include Taylor, Gibson, Fender, Vox, Mesa, Orange, Korg, and Roland. A Yamaha C3 grand piano fills out the studio’s primary room.
