Jim Vanzino, owner and engineer of Avalon Recording (Harrisburg, Pa.), recently acquired an Audient ACS8024 console (which is paired with a Pro Tools|HD2 Accel rig) from Audio Exchange International (AXI).
“I wanted to upgrade my studio with top-of-the-line equipment, but I had to stay within my budget,” says Vanzino. “AXI really came through by supplying me with one of the best consoles in the industry and the most affordable: an Audient ACS8024. Since the installation of the Audient, we have tracked and mixed various artists. The sound is very clean and the features are amazing.”
“One of the biggest misconceptions in today’s audio industry is that digital equipment is always the best choice, whereas with music recording consoles, that is clearly not the case,” says Chris Walsh, director of sales and marketing for AXI. “We knew that the ACS8024 was a great choice for Avalon Recording because of [the board’s] high-quality mixing performance and affordable price. The good blend of analog and digital equipment will help Avalon become established as a first-class facility.” Avalon Recording recently combined its systems with recording studio Cape Sound Productions. The new high-tech facility offers both studio tracking and a professional mobile recording system. Currently, Avalon is mixing projects for Nashville-natives, The Lost Dogs and local band Amy K. Other clients include Harrisburg-area gospel singers and rap artists.
