ALTO ESOTAR MP8D Preamp
ALTO (booth #6555, Hall A) is releasing the DIGAN 2.7, a digital EQ processor designed in a half-rack chassis. Its design uses a 2x 7-band graphic equalizer, a 2x 7-band parametric equalizer and a dynamics processor. It contains a large LED matrix on the front panel and comes with 30 factory presets and an additional 70 programs that are user-editable.
Graphic EQ functions are accessible via the front panel controls, while the parametric EQ and dynamics processing functions are accessible via the rear panel USB interface, connected to a remote PC.
A user-friendly Windows editor is available for free at www.altoproaudio.com. The DSP used is a 24-bit engine and makes use of 100dB codecs for extended dynamic range and optimal signal-to-noise ratio.
Also during Winter NAMM, ALTO will release the MP8D, an 8-channel instrument and microphone preamplifier with ADAT pipeline and 24-bit/192kHz AES/EBU-S/PDIF digital outputs. The MP8D is part of the ALTO ESOTAR line of processors.
The eight channels of the MP8D include eight sophisticated microphone preamps with +60dB gain, low distortion (0.007% THD) and S/N ratio of -128 dB. Insert point is also provided for every channel, as well as individual 48-volt phantom power switch and highpass filter. Three LEDs are added to every channel indicating gain level and clipping. The first two channels of the MP8D also include two instrument inputs.
Sampling rate and external clock are selectable from the front panel. The AES/EBU-S/PDIF format and the ADAT Lightpipe output can run simultaneously, giving users 16 digital outputs at the same time. Users can record with the MP8 when connecting to a laptop, digital console or hard disk recorder.
