Behringer has expanded its studio monitor product line with the TRUTH B2031A, a high-resolution, active two-way reference studio monitor capable of reproducing program material with the highest fidelity and balance, accurately positioning sound sources. The TRUTH B2031A is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2004.
The TRUTH B2031A sports an ultralinear frequency response from 50 Hz to 21 kHz with individual frequency diagrams, and an ultrahigh-resolution ferrofluid-cooled tweeter. Loads of power reserve stem from two separate built-in 150- and 75-watt power amplifiers for bass and high frequencies, respectively. The monitor boasts a long-throw 8 3/4-inch woofer with special polypropylene diaphragm and a solid, deformation-resistant aluminum die-cast chassis. The company’s wave guide technology allows controlled dispersion characteristics and an extremely large “sweet spot.” A special bass-reflex system accurately renders the sound in the lower end of the frequency spectrum. In the upper frequency range, a specially developed dome tweeter provides for subtle signal reproduction.
The TRUTH B2031A features an active crossover network with fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley filters that can be adjusted to a wide range of acoustic conditions and subwoofer operation. There is also a separately controlled limiter for low- and high-frequency overload protection. Magnetic shielding allows placement near computer and video monitors, with low-vibration, environmentally friendly E1 MDF cabinets. All TRUTH B2031A are delivered as “matched pairs” with individual frequency diagrams. Servo-balanced 1/4-inch TRS and XLR connectors and an automatic Standby mode round off the feature list.
The TRUTH B2031A was designed in Germany and manufactured under ISO9000 certified management system.
