Axia Audio has introduced the AES/EBU Node, a small (1RU) device that offers eight stereo AES-3 inputs and outputs and built-in auto-sensing power supply.
The Livewire-enabled Ethernet port connects the AES/EBU node to a high-capacity media network based on standard Ethernet switching technology. A built-in Web server enables remote configuration and control via a standard Web browser. The node also contains a dot-matrix front panel display for device identification during installation and audio confidence metering.
The adapter node allows users to connect their digital equipment directly to the network, eliminating AD/DA conversions, according to Axia president Michael Dosch. Analog and digital nodes can be mixed as needed so that every device in the facility is available on the network.
