Sound Studio N in Cologne, Germany, will install the world’s first Fairlight DREAM Anthem, which will live in Control Room 1 and be seamlessly networked via Fairlight MediaLink with Fairlight QDC engines in Control Rooms 2 and 3. Fairlight’s new SX48 Signal Exchange, a compact remotely configurable I/O solution, will deliver audio between the live area and control room.

“The Fairlight Anthem is an innovative console that offers everything,” says chief engineer. “With 96-channel hard disk recording, eight powerful QDC audio engine and full networkability, the Anthem is the complete solution for recording, mixing and post-production. In addition, the sleek and slim design fits perfectly into our studio acoustic design. We are proud to be the first Fairlight Anthem owner and look forward to a long and successful future with the console.”

Since opening its doors in 1970, Sound Studio N has developed a reputation as one of the premier facilities in Europe, serving recording artists, cinema, broadcast and radio clients. Its client roster includes Moguai, The Scorpions, Simple Minds, Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, Helmut Lotti, Herbert Grˆnemeyer, Prof. Stockhausen, The Fugees, Sarah Brightman, Pink, Garbage, the Gipsy Kings and many more. In addition, Sound Studio N has recorded a number of hit musicals, such as Aida, Cabaret, Phantom of the Opera, Starlight Express, Miami Nights and Les Miserables.

Sound Studio N’s most recent projects include musical recordings for Queen: We Will Rock You, Beauty & The Beast and Saturday Night Fever. Recent cinema projects include Little Polar Bar II and Der Wixxer, as well as numerous 5.1 and radio surround projects.
