BBC NYC's Chuck Tayman chats with a guest from behind a Soundcraft RM1ds digital on-air desk.

Gencom Technology LLC recently installed Soundcraft RM1ds digital on-air radio desks at two BBC News and World bureaus in Manhattan: one at the broadcaster's new midtown studios and the other at the headquarters of the United Nations.

The two desks were installed during full pro audio and video system upgrades for both of the bureaus, which took place on the heels of Gencom's first installation project for the British broadcaster at the brand new BBC facility in Washington, D.C.

The New York City news bureau, which shares offices with the Associated Press, Daily News and PBS affiliates Thirteen/WNET and WLIW, now boasts a newly-equipped news room, TV studio, single-camera self-operated TV studio, record bank, two edit suites, digital radio studio and self-op radio studio outfitted with a 12-fader Soundcraft RM1ds.

The second bureau, located in the Secretariat building of the United Nations complex, encompasses a newsroom, self-op TV studio and self-op radio studio, the last of which being home to a six-fader RM1ds.
