Globalstor Data Corporation, an OEM integrator of RAID, SAN and storage/video servers, introduces the iTrax, which allows centralized storage and retrieval of multiple sessions with a range of servers designed and optimized for every level of professional audio recording.

Built on the same foundation as the ExtremeStor series of servers, with a solid-state 64-bit iSCSI + NAS operating system, the iTrax extends Globalstor's line of ExtremeStor products by offering multi-user access to consolidated, centralized and fully searchable data.

Using an iSCSI initiator, the iTrax appears as a local disk drive on any computer connected to the LAN or WAN. Windows users can download the free Windows iSCSI initiator offered by Microsoft. Globalstor solutions can also be used as Network Attached Storage servers in conjunction with iSCSI. Once iSCSI initiators are loaded, every host system on the network can see and share all stored data. Engineers on separate workstations can simultaneously edit and mix different sessions stored on any iTrax server.

In addition, users can remotely log into sessions from anywhere in the world using any Internet protocol–based GUI.

iTrax servers will be available in various configurations, ranging from an 8-drive solution with onboard RAID protection to a 36-drive version with multiple onboard levels of RAID redundancy. Globalstor data storage solutions are used in conjunction with Pro Tools and other DAW software on both Macintosh and Windows platforms.

Available through Globalstor Data authorized partners, the ExtremeStor-iTrax is available now with three-year factory warranties. Prices for the ExtremeStor-iTrax start at $4,995 with 1 terabyte of usable storage.
