This Month in Mix

Harry Hirsch is a pioneer of the modern recording industry, and now, the founder of the legendary MediaSound and SoundMixers Studios is bringing his fifty years of experience to recording schools across the country, beginning in his hometown of New York. On March 9, Sound Directions will present “My Story: In the Recording Industry With Harry Hirsch,” a multimedia presentation that will focus on the business of running a recording studio, from development of the space to hiring engineers. Hirsch, who debveloped curricula for NY’s Center for Media Arts and taught at the NYU Music Business Technology Program, has also served as a NARAS Trustee and chair of AES events

The lecture/presentation tour will begin at the Institute of Audio Research in NYC on March 9, at 6:30 p.m.; next up is the Clive Davis Department for Recorded Music at NYU, March 22, at 6:00 p.m.; after that, it’s off to William Paterson University on March 28 at 1 p.m. For more information, contact Harry at harry@sounddirections.org.
