This Month in Mix

The L.A. Studios Inc., recently announced that its Margarita Mix de Santa Monica facility was selected by production company Lotus Filmworks to perform the mix on the 50 Cent video "Candy Shop." To date, the song has spent nine weeks at Number One on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

Currently airing on MTV and other music video outlets, "Candy Shop" was mixed by Margarita Mix de Santa Monica mixer Nathan Dubin, who has also mixed videos for Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Jill Scott and Nelly Furtado, as well as advertisements for IBM, Ford, Budweiser, Sony, Toyota and Diet Pepsi.

In other Margarita Mix news, chief mixer Jimmy Hite has been nominated for the Spotted Excellence Award by the Association of Music Producers (AMP).

Hite was recognized for his mix on Fallon/Minneapolis' "Interview" spot for United Airlines. The winner will be announced at the fourth annual AMP Awards, which takes place on June 6, 2005, in Beverly Hills. Hite was the recipient of AMP's "Mixer of the Year" award in 2002.
