This Month in Mix
MusicBox—a music production company that provides thousands of cuts from its original music catalog, as well as original composition and scoring—announces the launch of MusicBoxLIVE, its new search-and-download tool that allows users online access to its entire library for the first time.
MusicBox’s catalog is available for downloading in either CD-quality AIFF or high-resolution MP3 file formats. MusicBoxLIVE enables listeners to search the catalog using selected moods, genres, tempos, instrumentation and user-definable keywords. MusicBoxLIVE will remain current with new company releases, be updated at least once monthly, mark all of its tracks with metadata and allow users direct access to MusicBox representatives.
Users may also click on a track name, and every related track for that selection will be displayed in a window with descriptions and timings of each piece. When the Play button is pushed next to a selection, a user can hear the track in its entirety. All composer and publishing information is also displayed, along with tempo and instrumentation.
In addition, MusicBoxLIVE has a customizable Projects area. Once an account name and password has been established, a user can create project bins to save selections under user-defined headings. Once a group of selections is ready for download, every selected file in the project bin can be downloaded at once. The ability to download individual tracks while browsing is also available.
