This Month in Mix
The San Francisco Chapter of the Recording Academy’s P&E Wing hosted the organization’s quarterly In the Mix networking event earlier this month at the North Beach neighborhood bar 15 Romolo.
A festive crowd of local producers, engineers, studio owners and other industry figures mixed, mingled and learned about P&E Wing activities on a local and national level. Committee Chairs Greg Gordon and Paul Stubblebine (Stubblebine Mastering) spoke to the crowd about this important division of the Recording Academy, giving them an overview of advocacy issues the group is spearheading on a national level (i.e., legislation related to webcasting royalties) and clued the crowd into upcoming local P&E Wing events, including panel discussions and a studio training session series, designed as “a way to bring up the level of knowledge of Bay Area engineers,” says Stubblebine.
The Recording Academy’s quarterly In the Mix events take place in Chapter cities across the U.S. Visit www.grammy.com for more information. To find out more about the P&E Wing, visit www.grammy.com/pe_wing/index.aspx.
