Neumann announces its large-diaphragm cardioid TLM 49 ($1,699.99) condenser microphone featuring a transformerless design, low self-noise and high gain levels. The TLM 49 is optimized for vocal and instrumental applications.
The TLM 49 features the K47 capsule used in Neumann’s M 49 and U47 models. The 34mm diaphragm cardioid capsule is enclosed by a large, acoustically open head grille. The TLM 49 operates at SPLs of up to 114 dB without distortion and has a dynamic range of 102 dB (A-weighted).
The TLM 49 comes in a matte-nickel finish with an EA 3 elastic suspension case. The interior structure is mounted elastically to prevent the transmission of structure-borne noise and the capsule is mounted with a rubber shock-mount.
The TLM 49 will be available May 2006. For more information, visit www.neumannusa.com. For more new product announcements, visit http://mixonline.com/products/new/.
