Neumann is offering the exclusive U87 Anniversary Set on the occasion of the microphone's 40th anniversary. The set includes an elastic suspension; a signed, framed certificate of authenticity; a new pop screen for a '60s feel; a dust cover embroidered with the anniversary logo; and a pair of white gloves.
"Visually, the entire set is very impressive with the combination of polished nickel parts with the traditional Neumann matte nickel look," says Wolfgang Fraissinet, president of marketing and sales.
Neumann has also launched the "U87 and You" campaign in celebration of the 40th anniversary. Those who provide a personal answer to the question "What do you associate with the U87?" in the form of a short video message (maximum 30 seconds), sent by December 31, 2007 via e-mail or MMS to My-U87-Message@neumann.com, have the chance to win a unique prize.
A drawing will be held among the 87 most interesting entries for the prize of a trip to Neumann's facilities in Berlin, Germany, providing an in-depth insight into the secrets of development and manufacture of the U87 and other Neumann microphones. There will also be ample time for sightseeing in the metropolis.
Additional information and the associated conditions for participation can be found on Neumann's Website at www.neumannusa.com.
