Award-winning score mixer Steve Kempster visited Hollywood's Ocean Way Recording to mix the score for PU-239 for HBO Films. The film depicts a worker at a Russian nuclear facility who is exposed to a lethal dose of radiation. To provide for his family, he steals some Plutonium and sets out to sell it on Moscow's black market with the help of an incompetent criminal.
To mix the dynamic score by composer Abel Korzeniowski, Kempster set up what he calls his "Racks of Doom" in Ocean Way's Studio D. Kempster's racks hold his favorite Pye compressors, as well as the new Eventide H8000 Ultra-Harmonizer, which he describes as “great for creating incredible surround environments.”
Kempster's previous credits include Austin Powers: Goldmember, Remember the Titans, Armageddon, Training Day, National Treasure, Mean Girls and Tarzan.
