Photomag's Studio A

Photomag Sound & Image, PostWorks New York's full-service post-production boutique in midtown Manhattan, handled post-production for Bravo’s new reality television series, Being Bobby Brown.

Co-produced by B2 Entertainment and Brownhouze Entertainment for Bravo, the series’ executive producers include Tracey Baker-Simmons and Wanda Shelley for B2. Bobby Brown and Tommy Brown are co-executive producers for Brownhouze.

“The producers of this series have been great to us,” says Jeremiah Hawkins, PostWorks’ executive producer, sales. “When they decided to make Photomag their post-production home, we expanded to meet their needs almost overnight. Providing extensive four-wall space, five offline Avid suites and two online suites is something few companies in Manhattan can match, and we’re delighted to have had this chance to support this talented production team.”

“We’ve predominantly used Avid Xpress Pro to assemble all the rough edits that we’re sending over to Bravo, and the system’s color-correction features ensure that the story comes through with minimal distractions, even in the rough stages,” says Jimmy Mazzullo, B2’s offline editor for the project, who has edited projects for CNN, MTV and VH1, among many others. Photomag’s commitment to the Avid platform through all project phases has simplified the process of editing this series.”

The final version of each episode was conformed at Photomag by online editors Travis Antolik and Steve Beganyi, as well as freelancer Brian Turner. Photomag mixer Lou Teti created each episode’s final mix. Photomag’s supporting team also included coordinating producer Bryn Neuenschwander and account executive Stephen Ostrow.

A sound mixing facility in Midtown Manhattan for over 30 years, Photomag was acquired by PostWorks, New York in 2003 and has been relaunched to handle audio and post-production. Photomag’s roster of post-production artists provides full-service sound design, VO recording, mixing, film re-recording, ADR, editing, graphic design and mastering to all standards and formats, including Dolby Digital 5.1, NTSC or PAL and High Definition.
