PreSonus has released two free instructional videos on recording a song using the FP10 and FireBox FireWire recording interfaces. Both videos are available on the PreSonus' Website at www.presonus.com/fp10.html (FP10) and www.presonus.com/firebox.html (FireBox).
Hosted by Baton Rouge, La. musician Chris LeBlanc, each instructional video offers a step-by-step tutorial on how to record a multitrack song using the included Steinberg Cubase LE 4 recording software with the PreSonus FireWire interface. Each video begins with setting the song tempo and recording a “scratch track” or “guide track.” “Keeper tracks” are then recorded to separate tracks in Cubase LE 4 including drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and vocals. The videos end with mixing the song to a stereo WAV file to burn to a CD or distribute online.
“We want PreSonus.com to be a place where people go to learn about recording and music creation,” says Director of Marketing Brad Zell.
PreSonus currently has more than 15 video podcasts at
www.presonus.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25. PreSonus also hosts a YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/presonusaudio.
