Russ Berger Design Group (RBDG) recently added architectural/acoustical designer Zuhre Su (pictured) to its project team. With a master’s degree in architecture and acoustics, a knowledge of interior design and experience in commercial and residential design, Zuhre designs functional spaces with a focus on sound quality.
Zuhre has conducted extensive research on acoustics. As part of her graduate-level work at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, N.Y., Zuhre worked with RPI professor Ning Xiang in acoustical research. They presented their findings at several professional conferences and in papers that will be published later this year. Zuhre is the 2006 Robert B. Newman Award medalist for Excellence in the Study of Acoustics and in its Applications to Architecture.
"Zuhre's combination of theoretical and practical knowledge of acoustical and architectural design makes her an integral part of the RBDG team," explains Russ Berger, president of RBDG. "She is able to take her research and apply it to the design challenges we face out in the field to create spaces that meet client needs, both sonically and esthetically."
Projects Zuhre is currently working on with the rest of the RBDG team include designing a soundstage and production facilities for NFL Network, studios and training facilities for the new Sweetwater campus, and creating a private mixing studio for recording and mix engineer Leslie Brathwaite.
