This Month in Mix

SM Pro Audio is now shipping the ADDA 192-S ($499) 2-channel, 24-bit/192kHz AD/DA converter. The front panel provides two combo connectors for mic or line-level sources. The mic inputs include preamps with switchable 48-volt phantom power and -20dB pad. The ADDA 192-S includes internal analog circuitry, as well as optical and coaxial S/PDIF I/O. The unit is designed to function with a low degree of jitter and to operate from internal or external sync via S/PDIF.

The unit can be monitored with a built-in headphone amp and analog/digital rotary mix controls. The master XLR and headphone output signal can be set to provide a controlled mix level of the analog and digital inputs for zero-latency direct monitoring applications.
