The SPARS NYC chapter continued their luncheon series by hosting Aviom at Porter’s restaurant in Chelsea on March 31, 2005. Karen Brinton of Remote Recording headed up a well-attended meeting of NYC audio pros such as Dave Amlen (Sound on Sound), Tim Finnegan (Dale Pro Audio), Walter Sear (Sear Sound), and Aaron Scher and Colleen Roy (Cotton Hill Recording).
Aviom’s Gary Lee and Ray Legnini spoke about the latest developments in their growing line of distributed audio network systems. Highlights included looks at Aviom input modules, personal mixers, output modules, and A-Net Distributors.
Roy and Scher came to see the Aviom presentation, as well as represent for upstate. “We decided to go to this particular meeting because we have the Aviom system and we wanted to put the faces with the name,” says Roy, Cotton Hill’s Project Coordinator. “The SPARS meeting is a learning opportunity. It’s good to be out in the recording industry, talk, and meet people like Walter Sear.”
