Solid State Logic recently presented the new AWSomation automation option for the AWS 900.
AWSomation is a fully featured automation package developed from SSL’s G and K Series Ultimation automation systems with a feature set designed specifically for the AWS 900.
AWSomation uses a classic, G Series style, with an SSL look and feel, and adds dynamic fader and cut automation to the powerful AWS 900. MIDI timecode is used as the positional reference together with support for MIDI Machine control locate commands to follow non-play-speed positional changes from the DAW.
AWSomation data can be stored in the host workstation as MIDI System Exclusive data, providing maximum integration and compatibility with the host platform and retaining the project and set-up data in a single file system.
Key features include accurate fader and cut automation data; fader links and group fader control; mix pass history; AutoTakeover; variable fader glide times; Fader safe mode; match-and-play automation updates, and the ability to save mixes and fader links as Sys-ex MIDI data.
