Stairway to Stardom, an eight-week summer music program for young, non-professional musicians organized by Skip’s Music in Sacramento, Calif., will host its annual Concert and Benefit Golf Tournament on August 14 and 15, 2005 at the Holiday Inn, 5323 Date Avenue (off of I-80), in Sacramento, Calif.
Now in its 25th year, the concert will showcase 20 young bands composed of recent graduates of the program. The event will also include a “video trip back in time” revisiting concerts and tournaments of the past 25 years.
The following morning, guests can compete for the “hole-in-one” or “most lost balls” trophies at the Stairway to Stardom Benefit Golf Tournament, held at the Teal Bend Golf Club, 7200 Garden Highway, in West Sacramento. The 4-player, best-ball scramble tournament kicks off with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. and costs $125 per person, which includes green fees, cart rental, barbeque and awards celebration. All proceeds benefit Starway to Stardom.
Registration deadline: July 31, 2005. For registration and sponsorship information, please contact Skip’s Music at 916/484-7575.
