Tascam’s compact HD-P2 is designed for location recording and records to Compact Flash media at sampling rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz at 16 to 24-bit resolution. The HD-P2 incorporates a built-in SMPTE timecode input for synchronizing to external devices while in record or playback mode. Time-stamped Broadcast WAV audio files can be loaded into a DAW software through the HD-P2’s built-in FireWire connection.
The unit’s video clock input resolves to house clock, and it offers tri-level sync support for HDTV applications. It also includes frame lock, lock and release, and flexible freewheel settings for unpredictable timecode sources. Pull-up/down sample rates are included for video-format compatibility.
Its two XLR microphone inputs include phantom power and an analog peak limiter. The unit also offers unbalanced stereo RCA I/O, S/PDIF I/O, a headphone output and a built-in mono mic and speaker.
The HD-P2 runs on eight AA batteries (for approximately five-and-a-half hours of operating time) or on a DC power adapter. For more information, visit www.tascam.com. For more new product announcements, visit http://mixonline.com/products/new/.
