This Month in Mix

TerraTec Producer’s HI JACK, a studio preamp featuring a variable high-impedance input that serves as a front end for electric guitars and acoustic instruments equipped with electric or piezo pickup systems, will be available this month.

With a discrete FET input amplifier stage serving as the front end, HI JACK offers gain reserves ranging from 1 dB to + 40 dB and sports a 2 M-ohm, high impedance circuitry.

Its instrument input reportedly “puts an end” to muddy signals due to mismatched impedances of pickups and amps. Its line output also accommodates balanced circuits, enabling greater cable lengths without annoying interference impairing signals. Price: 79 Euros.
