Virtual Katy will exhibit its VK2 sound editing software in the Avid Partner Pavilion (booth SL1513). VK2 is scheduled to ship in April 2006 at an MSRP of $995; all registered VK users will receive the VK2 upgrade for free.

VK2 will handle formats such as EDLs, Avid Cut Lists, Avid Change Notes and OMF/AAF files. VK2 Preview mode provides audio post editors using Pro Tools with a visual overview of picture edit changes without committing to the change. VK2 users will be able to trace the history of a shot, sequence or any one element through the entire history of their project. Users will also be able to drag and drop groups of lists and VK2 will automatically import the data. The VK2 List Cleaner will perform list parsing for unwanted elements—for example, split out video and audio elements. Core enhancements allow VK2 users to process 2,500 edits over 10 reels within one second.
