Rental company Gerhofer (Munich) increased its order for Meyer Sound gear, adding more M1D ultracompact curvilinear array loudspeakers to make a total of 24.
Gerhofer, who has been a longtime user of Meyer, values the M1D for being lightweight, easy-to-handle and self-powering. The company’s Klaus Küssel finds both qualities to be invaluable assets in the live sound rental arena, saying, “The sound produced by the M1D is very versatile. It makes them ideal for us because we can use them for anything from live music events to TV studios.”
Gerhofer's client base is also a powerful factor in purchasing Meyer Sound. “For example,” Küssel continues, “we work with the three biggest art museums in Munich. They are often used as event locations, but the majority of them were built before acoustic design was commonplace, which makes it quite difficult to achieve good sound in them. We tested a lot of systems in these rooms and got the best results with the Meyer system, especially with the smaller loudspeakers such as the MM-4 and UPJ-1P.”
