Horizon Music Inc. (Booth #4750, Hall C), a manufacturer of audio and video interfacing and cable assemblies, is featuring the Professional Snake Reel Series at Winter NAMM 2005, The Professional Snake Reel combines solid construction, portability and ease of use for the consumer.
“The reel concept makes setup, teardown, transport and storage of the snake much more convenient, quick and easy,” says James Watkins, VTG’s (Horizon’s) custom product engineer. “Our company respects its dealer’s product recommendations, as well as the evolving needs of musicians and stage crew. These snake reels as well as some new product offerings are tangible evidence that dealer input matters.”
The Professional Snake Reel offers 16-gauge steel construction and individually jacketed and shielded multi-pair cable in an integrated cable reel/stage box design. Standard Snake Reels come in two lengths—100-feet and 150-feet—in 16x4 or 24x4 configurations and customer choice of ¼-inch or XLR returns. Custom lengths and channel options are available to order. The Snake Reel also includes rubber wheels with locks for smooth rolling and safety.
“With the Professional Snake Reel, simply roll the unit onto the stage, lock it in place and run the snake cable out to the console,” Watkins explains. “Because the stage box is built directly into the reel assembly, the cumbersome nature of traditional two piece Reel/snake combinations is gone. Being able to plug the microphone inputs directly into the side of the reel makes it simple, fast and easy. Tear-down is just as simple.”
