Non-profit organization Ride On recently used a pair of JBL EON15-G2 and a pair of EON10-G2 powered speakers for its Barn Dance fundraising event, held on July 8, 2006. Featuring Los Angeles–based band Judge Jackson, the Barn Dance was held in Chatsworth, Calif.
Ride On provides horseback riding and equine-related therapy to children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. The organization has two facilities in the Los Angeles area and serves more than 170 disabled riders each week. Ride On is facing the potential loss of its facility in the San Fernando Valley and needs to raise a minimum of $250,000 in the next 18 months to secure a permanent ranch from which to operate.
According to Sara Jones, assistant director for Ride On, JBL has provided tremendous support during the past fives years. “JBL donated a pair of EON 15s to Ride On, and they have been used at every special event that Ride On has held,” Jones says. “The EON system is lightweight, portable and incredibly user-friendly. Our primary focus tends to have four legs and our staff is not particularly technically minded, so the ease of use is important!”
At the Barn Dance, the recently donated EON 10s were used for Judge Jackson’s performance, as well as other events. “The EON 10s were perfect as we used them for announcing riding demonstrations, background music and beating the sound of the nearby Highway 101,” Jones remembers.
