This year, Serbia marks the 200th anniversary since the start of the first Serbian uprising and the creation of a modern Serbian state. In commemoration, "Europe in Belgrade", a ceremonial concert, was recently staged in the concert hall at Belgrade’s Sava Center to bring together many interpreters of classical music from throughout Europe. The Belgrade audience had an opportunity to listen to a diverse collection of artists of Serbian origin who have achieved international success on opera stages around the world.
Novi Sad-based Studio Berar was contracted to provide full sound and lighting services for this ambitious musical project. The concert audio system included 20 JBL VerTec VT 4889 full-size line array elements, set up in left and right arrays of 10 enclosures each. The system was powered by 36 Crown CTs amplifiers. System signal processing was effected with six dbx DriveRack 480 digital system controllers.
“The high fidelity and broad dynamic range of the VerTec system are well-suited to reproduce the subtle nuances of classical and operatic performances,” noted Martin Seidl, JBL’s director of European sales. “Studio Berar is a very quality-oriented audio services provider, and the company very capably represents JBL’s worldwide network of VerTec system owners from their location in Central Europe.”
