KLS light & sound (Macedonia) is a leading entertainment technology rental company in the Balkan region, and offers a full range of audio, lighting and projection services to the events market. In addition to other recent upgrades, KLS has purchased a new 48-mono/4-stereo–channel Soundcraft Series Five audio mixing console.
According to Vision, Soundcraft’s Skopje-based distributor, this is one of the first Series Fives to be imported into the Balkans. Says Vision’s Ljupco Nikolovski, “This kind of sophisticated professional equipment is hardly available in this region, which makes this purchase even more important.”
On its arrival, Petar Georgievski, owner of KLS light & sound, sent his new Soundcraft desk directly to the Skopje Jazz Festival, a prestigious event that draws world-class jazz performers to the capital of Macedonia. This year’s headline acts featured the U.S.’ McCoy Tyner, Nigeria’s Femi Kuti and Positive Force, and Brazil’s Rosalia Sousa.
Within weeks, KLS was using the console for another important festival in Skopje, the Taksirat 6, for an audience of more than 8,000. According to Georgievski, the Series Five was equally at home with the heavy metal and prog rock of German band Kreator and LET 3 from Croatia as it was with the reggae of Bob Marley’s band The Wailers, Turkish Eurovision winners Athena and the electro pop of Darkwood Dub from Serbia and Montenegro.
