English-based band Keane has been equipped with Sennheiser mics and IEMs during its late-2004 worldwide tour supporting This Is the Last Time. The band will return to the States to play the Coachella Festival (Coachella Valley, Calif.) on April 30, 2005.

Iain Slater, front-of-house engineer, and Alistair Artingstall, monitor engineer, both support the use of Sennheiser products on tour. According to Slater, "We are using e935s on main and backing vocals for Tom and Tim, and they are working out very well. They're extremely smooth with a nice presence at the top end and they also have good feedback rejection. The e604s are used on the toms and they do an excellent job, as well as being discreet and durable. We've got e614s, which are good sturdy condensers, on overheads and hats and an e609 on the tambourine. The whole setup works well and sounds great."

Artingstall explains, "I decided to try the Sennheiser ew300 G2 system on the recommendation of a colleague and was not disappointed. The audio quality is superb and doesn't suffer from the high-end sizzle that some rival systems do. The scanning function is a real bonus, cutting down on setup time each day. And the overall sound quality and small pack size has been a real hit with the band, which is the most important factor at the end of the day. I would have no hesitation in recommending the ew300 G2s to anyone thinking of starting with or changing personal monitoring systems."
