Touring company LD Systems (Houston) recently added 60 Electro-Voice P3000 RL™ amps and 58 X-Line™ Xvls™ cabinets to its inventory of Electro-Voice X-Line, XLC™ and X-Array™ loudspeaker systems. LD systems director of production services Robert Ausmus reports, “The principal reason for the system expansion was to add to LD’s touring capabilities, as well as serving existing customers for large-format events like the Houston Livestock Show Rodeo. The rodeo is held at Reliant Stadium—the venue for the 2004 Super Bowl.

“The X-Line is the most musical-sounding large-format line array I’ve heard,” Ausmus continues. “Many competitors’ products are overly articulate, to a point where the musicality and warmth of a performance are adversely affected. With X-Line, that’s not an issue. The performances sound very musical and cohesive.

The X-Line is also back on the road with rock band Three Doors Down. Says Ausmus, “We’re currently doing a 17-date pre-release promotional tour for Three Doors Down’s new record 17 Days, which dropped in February 2005. The band will be touring the U.S. in April. The band has sounded fantastic through the system over the last two years, and we’re looking forward to another great tour with the X-Line/RL rig.” For more information, please go to www.ldsystems.com and www.electrovioce.com.
