L-R: Meyer Sound's Sandy Macdonald and Geoff Shearing (with MILO) at NSCA 2005.

According to Masque Sound VP Geoff Shearing, the 70-year-old East Rutherford, N.J.-based sound reinforcement company’s decision to add 16 MILO high-power curvilinear array loudspeakers to its rental inventory resulted from “clients asking for it,” as Shearing reports. “Masque has been a Meyer Sound user for many years and we already knew what MILO had to offer: wonderful sound, self-powering, high output and excellent rigging,” he continues. “Frankly, when we evaluated the idea, all we saw was benefits.”

Masque’s involvement with live events (theater, television and corporate A/V) has recently been expanding into more music events and tours. Shearing expects the new MILO rig to spend a good deal of time working in that area. “MILO has become the first choice of many tours, which is one reason we started getting requests. I don’t expect to see the new system in our warehouse very often.”
