Sonicbids, an online platform enabling musicians to connect with music promoters, has created a completely Web-based platform for the Zippo Hot Tour 2005, empowering independent bands from across the country to electronically submit entries for this nationwide competition.

The Zippo Hot Tour is a nationwide music competition showcasing independent and unsigned bands. For the tour, bands submit applications online using the Sonicbids Electronic Press Kit™ platform. Each qualifying band will have an Electronic Press Kit placed directly at www.zippohottour.com to maximize exposure. Once selected, a combination of live performance qualifiers and public online voting will determine one grand-prize winner. The winning band will receive a prize package from top music equipment partners such as ESP Guitars, Peavey Amps and Tama Drums, an A&R showcase for Capitol Records executives and an opening spot for a national headliner on the Zippo Hot Tour coming this November 2005.

Sonicbids is also supporting Zippo with a comprehensive marketing plan, which includes advertising the tour to its 24,000 artist member community on www.sonicbids.com.

Online submissions for the Zippo Hot Tour will be accepted through to April 14, 2005.
