AKG Acoustics announced the new C5 and D5 vocal microphones at the 2007 Winter NAMM show. The C5/D5 Series features a new industrial design, along with feedback resistance for professional musicians performing everywhere from small clubs to large concert stages.
The C5 condenser vocal microphone and D5 dynamic vocal microphone each feature a spring steel wire mesh grille cap for maximum protection of the capsule and a zinc-alloy die-cast housing. An integrated shock-absorber system minimizes handling noise.
The C5 features a 24-carat-gold sputtered housing that protects the condenser capsule against moisture and humidity plus a removable Presence Boost adapter. The D5 dynamic includes the new Laminate Varimotion diaphragm technology to deliver smooth frequency response and high gain before feedback. The D5 is also available in a switched model, the D5 S, which features an on/off switch on the body.
All models include gold-plated XLR output connectors for loss-free signals, a vinyl carrying bag and stand adapter.
