Allen & Heath iDR-4

At the NSCA Expo 2004, Allen & Heath (booth 2322) will introduce iDR-4, which is based on the same technology as the iDR-8 system

At the NSCA Expo 2004, Allen & Heath (booth 2322) will introduceiDR-4, which is based on the same technology as the iDR-8 system andideal for smaller installations. iDR-4 is a 4-input/4-output digitalprocessor with additional 2-input, 2-output, dual-function monitorchannels.

Three new iDR products in the accompanying series of PLremote-controller panels will also make their NSCA Expo debut. PL-7 isa stand-alone or surface-mounted LCD panel, which, using Allen &Heath’s PL-Anet interface on CAT-5 cable and connectors, enables remotedisplay of status information and text messages that can be stored inthe recallable memory settings. PL-8 is a 4-input/4-output logiccontrol panel mounted on a wall plate that can be connected to PL-Anet.It is designed to interface external systems such as alarm systems,jukeboxes, screens and lights. The PL-9 hub is a 1U rack- or deskmountunit that provides up to seven individual connections to chains of PLdevices, simplifying wiring and eliminating the need for complexdaisy-chaining.

Allen & Heath also launched the latest version of theWindows-based iDR Software Manager that configures iDR hardwarecomponents into an integrated audio distribution system. Version 3.3supports the new iDR-4 signal processor and PL-9 “hub” unit, andreflects Windows-style applications and navigation, including Copy,Paste and Save functions between presets and DSP devices. SystemManager 3.3 comes with a powerful new interface to design virtual wallplates and enables control of the Allen & Heath iDR series ofmixers from a PC running Windows 95/NT/98/ME/2000/XP.
