DigitalSoundboard.net, a live musical performance recording download site, has made available late-night sessions recorded during the 2006 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The new releases feature Bonerama with Leo Nocentelli, the New Orleans Allstars, two Trio sessions )one from the Maple Leaf and another recorded at Le Bon Temp Roule), the Third Annual Jamakazi, MG5 (formerly Frequinox), Porter-Batiste-Stoltz with Skerik, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Papa Mali, the Stanton Moore Trio, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Runnin’ Pardners and more.
Each year for the past 37 years, New Orleans has been host to the Jazz & Heritage Festival in late April/early May and this year marks the first year DigitalSoundboard.net has engaged in late-night recording of performances that happen outside of the Fair Grounds Race Track and in the clubs of New Orleans during Jazzfest 2006.
Dave Morrison, co-founder of DigitalSoundboard.net, says, “DigitalSoundboard.net is proud to do our part in a post-Katrina world for the New Orleans musicians and provide them a platform where their performances can be heard by a global audience. This project brought us to such notable New Orleans hotspots as The Howlin' Wolf, Southport Hall, The Maple Leaf, D.B.A, Le Bon Temps Roule and Preservation Hall.”
Proceeds from these recording will go directly to the artists. In addition to the full-length live performance recordings available, DigitalSoundboard.net has released for free select tracks from each recording via its Podcast service.
