Audio technicians from SW Audio Visual were part of a group of recently trained individuals in the Pacific Northwest.
Numerous sound companies in the Pacific Northwest have completed JBL’s VerTec Certificate Training Seminar. Each company has recently purchased new JBL VT4888 VerTec mid-size line array systems. Companies involved included Concert Production Services (www.concertprosvcs.com, Kennewick, Wash.), Voltstar Production (Idaho Falls, Id.), Tachyon Productions (Kalispell, Mont.) and SW Audio Visual Services (Kelowna, B.C.).
Voltstar Productions’ first field use with its new VerTec system was in support of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's Western U.S. multi-city tour, which drew capacity crowds in 6,000- to 15,000-seat venues. Concert Production Services used its new system at several regional fairs and music festivals during August and September. Tachyon Productions supported legendary rock group Journey when the band visited the region.
System sales for Voltstar, Concert Production Services and Tachyon were supported by Andy Kim of Northshore Marketing, JBL's regional distributor in the Pacific Northwest, with VerTec trainings for Tachyon and Voltstar conducted by Raul Gonzalez, tour sound field engineer for JBL Professional.
SW Audio Visual deployed its new VT4888DP self-powered VerTec system for Wakefest Kelowna, Canada's largest wakeboard music festival, which featured performances by De La Soul, Sweatshop Union and Comeback Kid. Russell Noble, product specialist and applications support engineer for JBL's Canadian distributor, Soundcraft Canada, supported the new system sale and first event use.
