At Musikmesse in Frankfurt (Hall 5.1, stand B80, or the Audio AG meeting room in Hall 4.1, called "Good Will"), April 6-9, 2011, ALVA, a partner of RME, is presenting the Nanoface, a 12-channel, bus-powered USB 2 and USB 3 audio and MIDI interface for Windows and Mac OS X. The Nanoface provides six audio inputs, six audio outputs, one MIDI input, two MIDI outputs, optical SPDIF I/O on channels 5-6, mic preamps on analog inputs 1-2, and a hi-Z instrument input that can be used in place of analog input 1-4.

The four analog outputs provide a flexible setup for monitoring two stereo signals at the same time—e.g., with main speakers and headphones. The signal from output 1/2 can be routed to output 3/4 and individually adjusted.

Because the digital I/O works in standard SPDIF format, the Nanoface can receive a digital signal from a CD player, or use an effects unit as a source for a surround receiver with digital optical input.

All features—including management, monitoring, and phantom power—can be adjusted from the jog-shuttle wheel.

ALVA says that the Nanoface will be available in June 2011.
