At this week's Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt, Germany (April 6-9 in Hall 8.0, booth #K4), IOSONO is introducing its Spatial Audio Workstation, which offers a concept for dealing with a spatial audio mix: a graphical user interface with options for motion editing (moving, rotating, scaling and grouping). In a single display, Spatial Audio Workstation depicts all tracks or events as sound objects, to provide greater convenience for positioning and moving audio.

Spatial Audio Workstation's new Upmix! functionality offers the option of converting stereo content to any surround format. It is said to recover natural and realistic surround sound from any stereo material, which users can fine-tune using dedicated adjustment features. With IOSONO's object-based mixing concept, the Spatial Audio Workstation works independently of the speaker setup, so that users can be edit, monitor and export projects to any current and future multichannel format.

The Upmix! engine works with the IPC 100 Spatial Audio Processor, the first 19-inch 4HE hardware platform for permanent and touring 3-D Audio applications. It is an all-in-one tool for reproducing IOSONO content or enhanced multichannel playback on flexible speaker layouts from 5 to 500 speakers. IOSONO promises comprehensive, flexible solutions for the entire 3-D Audio-production process, including mixing, distribution and reproduction.
