TC-Helicon VoiceTone H1

TC-Helicon's new VoiceTone H1 ($149) is a two-part vocal harmony processor combining NaturalPlay guitar control and key/scale operation to allow vocalists of any musical background to get lush sounding background vocals. The NaturalPlay harmony algorithms come directly from TC-Helicon’s flagship vocal processor VoiceLive 2.

VoiceTone H1 features eight pre-authored harmony voicing, a mic pre with phantom power, a balanced XLR output, a recessed gain knob designed to prevent accidental bumps onstage, and USB for connecting to VoiceSupport for added tips, tricks, support and updates. The pedal is constructed of a die-cast steel design and has a rubberized base.

To control VoiceTone H1, select from eight voicing combinations, then set harmony mix and choose between guitar control using the guitar pass-through input or selecting a key and scale. Singers can turn backup vocals on and off using the footswitch or the optional MP-75 Modern Performance Vocal microphone with Mic Control.

TC-Helicon states that the VoiceTone H1 will ship worldwide in June 2011.

The company is also showing two new vocal effects stompboxes: the VoiceTone E1 Echo & Tap Delay ($149) and VoiceTone X1 Megaphone & Distortion ($129). The E1 and X1 also inherit algorithms from TC-Helicon's VoiceLive 2.

VoiceTone E1 provides access to delays and echoes such as Slapback, Echo, Tap Echo and FX styles, which users can tune with the Feedback and Analog controls. Singers can tap song tempo and turn the effect on and off with the footswitch. Alternatively, on/off function can be operated with the Mic Control switch found on the optional MP-75 Modern Performance vocal microphone.

VoiceTone X1 borrows technology from TC-Helicon’s Transducer block to emulate the sounds of telephones, distortion and amps to make vocals stand out in a mix. Each style can be tuned with dedicated Drive and Filter controls. The X1 can also be controlled using the Mic Control feature of the MP-75 microphone.

Up to four VoiceTone Singles can be connected together with TC-Helicon's Singles Connection Kit to form a custom vocal processing chain. The kit includes a 12-volt power supply, three DC daisy-chaining connectors, and three short XLR cables.

TC-Helicon expects to ship The VoiceTone E1 and VoiceToneX1 in summer 2011.
