GEPCO CT504HD: An ideal solution for portable or remote patching of digital audio formats using Cat-5e–type cable, Gepco’s CT504HD heavy-duty tactical Cat-5e cable was created to meet the increased demand of audio professionals who need a rugged, reliable, portable and flexible cable solution. The inner jacket of the CT504HD allows the pair to have proper physical spacing to achieve EIA/TIA Cat-5 specifications, while the durable TPE outer jacket protects the cable from physical damage or abuse. In addition, the CT504HD uses stranded 24-gauge conductors that enhance the cable’s flexibility and flex-life durability. NAB Booth: C9341.

VISIONEERING CONNECT 4X4 AES PATCHBAY: Visioneering Connect has come up with the ultimate solution to the problem of interfacing digital audio devices that employ eight channels of AES I/O on a single D-25 connector, such as Euphonix, Pro Tools|HD, Mackie and others. We have developed a four-row patchbay that normals two devices to each other’s respective inputs/outputs with a single 8-pair AES cable—with D-25 connectors on both ends—between the gear and the patchbay. No splitting or joining of cables and no more bulky breakout cables are required. Audio Accessories’ nickel-plated TT jacks are arranged 48 across on a 3RU chassis. Model VDC-5018W-448D-4x4 comes complete with 24 cables (custom lengths available) for less than $3,800. NAB Booth: C 3651.

VISIONEERING CONNECT AES3ID8: Visioneering Connect has developed yet another indispensable product aimed at the broadcast market where many devices adopt the 75-ohm AES-ID format for digital audio. Facilities typically use a 75-ohm “video” patchbay for interfacing the digital audio signals. What then to do with the many devices that employ eight pairs of 110-ohm AES-3 audio signals on a single D-25 connector? The usual “fix” is to hang eight expensive baluns on an expensive breakout cable in a lump in the back of the rack. The AES3ID8 is a 1RU rack-mount unit with eight BNC connectors mating with a D-25 connector. We use the highest-quality transformers available, and meet 192kHz specs. The $295 price includes a D-25-to-D-25 interface cable. NAB Booth: C 3651.
